As weird as this may sound, I love cooking by candlelight!
So often we rush through cooking and it truly becomes a chore.
When we take the time to set the scene, we allow it become an art form.
For me, the kitchen has become the door to my escape.
I can put aside anything else that may be going on, and focus on creating something that pleases me and my household.
Lighting a candle is a part of my "scene/mood" setting,
it adds a warm glow to an otherwise white washed lighting situation.
My husband also placed our extra Christmas lights around the top of the cabinets, combined with candles and the overhead oven light, it creates that warm hearth glow without the hazard of an actual fireplace or pot belly stove.
